Third Year PhD Student
Topic: Residential Smart-Meter Data Models
Supervisor: Dr. Ruchi Choudhary
Advisor: Dr. Yeonsook Heo
Yohei is a PhD student supervised by Dr. Ruchi Choudhary. His PhD is sponsored by an industrial company EPCO Inc., a Japanese smart-energy service company. Before starting his Master's degree at the University of Cambridge in 2013, he was working for a data science start-up in Android application analysis as an entrepreneur. He holds a BA from the University of Tokyo, Japan.
His main research interest is smart energy home management under a deregulated energy market. Using machine learning, such as Gaussian Process, to build a home energy consumption model and excess generation (exported energy from rooftop solar panels) model. He is also leading an energy open data project 'Energy Analyser', which provides a free smart meter for households and then collects the realtime energy dataset for academic research.
